Thanks to everyone who has supported us and helped us out – we would not have been able to do the cool things we’ve done without you.

And this one scores pretty high on the cool meter – here’s the press release about it:

Jul 14, 2010 – New York, NY – Powerhouse record label Spectra Records signs rock band Grown Up Avenger Stuff

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Spectra Records is very proud to announce they have signed GROWN UP AVENGER STUFF to the label and will release the group’s debut album, “Disagreements With Gravity” in both digital and physical retail distribution.

“We are extremely happy to have added Grown Up Avenger Stuff to our roster of bands,” said Bobby Collins, president of Spectra Records. “There is something new and fantastic developing in the rock music scene in the South and for the moment it’s off the radar of the big music industry. Grown Up Avenger Stuff is a perfect example of this great new music – they have a unique sound and approach and they have been building quite a buzz there in their home market of Charlotte, NC. They have an exciting potential and we are going to help them spread their music on a much larger scale.”

Grown Up Avenger Stuff singer/front-woman Deirdre Kroener stated: “This band is made up musicians that are, at heart, purists. Delivering music that is genuine and honest is very important to us – it’s in our songs, in our shows, in the way we approach our musical lives. We’ve never tried to mold ourselves based on what is going on in commercial music and so we really never expected to find a commercially focused label that would get excited about our music exactly as it is. But we found just that with Spectra Records.”

“We’re thrilled to join the Spectra Records family of artists,” says band guitarist John Thomsen. “The list of bands under the Spectra umbrella is quite impressive; we find ourselves in excellent company and it’s clear that the label is committed to doing something relevant and important in a musical climate that is desperately in need of music that is fresh and different. Spectra is made of some of the few good guys out there, and that’s a perfect match for us. It’s a great opportunity for our band as well as for the people who love our music and tirelessly support us, and we are really looking forward to working together.”

The new Grown Up Avenger Stuff album, “Disagreements With Gravity” will be available on: http://spectrarecords.com/ where CD’s and band merchandise can be purchased, along with downloadable songs and ringtones. Upcoming availability for download scheduled on iTunes, Napster, Rhapsody, emusic, Amazon and more. Additionally, the CD will be available in retail locations early next year.
